WORK EXPERIENCE

Assisted Graeme Mitcheson with all aspects of Stone Sculpting, including hand and pneumatic carving, grinding, cutting, polishing, and installation. 19th June 2001 - 18th December 2001

I'm a young artist born 1979, currently based in Hertfordshire.

I studied for a BTEC diploma in Art and design foundation studies at the University of Hertfordshire. During this time I became interested in large scale wood carving and decided to train for the necessary chainsaw certificates. I then studied at Loughborough University School of Art and Design, where I am proud to have gained a first class BA honours degree in fine art sculpture. I also spent three months studying sculpture at the prestigious Virginia Commonwealth University, USA. Since leaving university in 2001, I have spent time producing sculpture in stone. I have also been commissioned to design several public sculptures in steel for the east midlands area. I am currently rediscovering my love for wood and greatly enjoying carving full time. I'm very fortunate that my business is my pleasure.
